Welcome to HNC: a College where you will become your best self

HNC is a 16-19 College, offering over 2300 students a wide range of A Level and Applied course options. Based 8 minutes from Huddersfield town centre and a stone’s throw from junction 23, we educate young people from Kirklees, Calderdale and beyond.

We are a diverse and inclusive community, but as members of staff we all work together to open minds, embrace difference and empower our young people to shape a better future. We strive to be a College where staff love to work and students love to learn and we do this through providing an enriching and enlightening experience. We welcome applications from individuals who click here to read our Vison and Mission statement.

Thank you for your interest in becoming part of our staff community. This site shares more about what it is like to be a member of the HNC community.

Benefits

We work hard, but we also know you have a family, friends, hobbies, and a life outside the office. That’s why we offer a great benefits package, not just a competitive salary.

Become your best self

We invest heavily in CPD for both teaching and operations staff, enabling you to become your best self.

A pleasant and modern environment

We invest heavily in our facilities and we are surrounded by green spaces. With free staff parking and an onsite Costa Café and Starbucks, our Campus is a fantastic place to work.

Free Employee Assistance Programme

Providing access to support on a range of areas including legal advice, money matters, tax, emotional support and much more!

Students love to learn

Our young people are respectful, hard working and committed to their studies – just one of the reasons staff love to work at HNC!

Healthy work-life balance

Staff wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do at HNC, and you will enjoy a range of support and working practices to help you to maintain a work-life balance.

Enlightening experiences

Students can access well over 150 different extra-curricular opportunities to enrich their experience. All staff, including operations staff, are able to support us by offering enrichment opportunities. These run in blocks lasting ten weeks each.
“I have worked at HNC for 33 years, seeing thousands of young people going on to achieve their ambitions, often overcoming challenges to do so. How the College genuinely transforms lives and makes what seems impossible, possible, is what makes HNC a magical place to work.”
Kam Rogerson, Assistant Principal
