Safeguarding
We are committed to safeguarding and protecting our children and young people at HNC. All posts are subject to a safer recruitment process which includes enhanced criminal records and barring checks, scrutiny of employment history, robust referencing and other vetting checks. All shortlisted candidates will be subject to an online search in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education. The successful candidate will also be subject to additional relevant background and safeguarding checks.
Our safeguarding system is underpinned by policies and procedures which encourage and promote safe working practice across HNC. On joining you will be required to undergo continuous professional development to maintain safe working practice and to safeguard our children and young people.
Please be aware that where a role is engaged in regulated activity relevant to children, it is an offence for anyone to apply for the role if they are on the children's barred list. Our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy can be located on our website

“We are a large and diverse College community. However, the College definitely has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Student behaviour is generally excellent, and this makes HNC an amazing place to work. As a teacher, it is also great that there are robust systems and processes in place to address instances where young people do not meet our high expectations.”Vicky Close, Enrich Lead and Teacher of A Level Textiles
